This bike is a hoss!, November 21, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Mongoose Salvo Comp Dual Suspension Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels) (Sports) Let me say beforehand that I've given this bike five stars because it is a fantastic value FOR THE PRICE. Remember, normally, the more you spend, the better the bike. With that in mind, I have no problem saying that this bike is a champ. The trails I ride on are very rocky, loose, and technical (not to mention full of thorns) which translates to a lot of stress on the tires and sometimes the suspension. So far, it has been reliable and extremely durable.
The shifters work well (they are shimano shifers for those of you who are used to sram).
The derailleurs themselves are hardy and shift more quickly than I expected. They have some pep to 'em and shift almost as soon as you pull/push the appropriate lever.
I have to brag on the tires that come with this bike. They have been more durable than I ever expected. The first time I brought the bike to the local trail, I met up with a man who had just bought a brand new high-dollar bike. After the ride, I caught... Read more
